American website: American newspapers’ coverage of the aggression against Gaza shows hostility towards the Palestinians

Washington, (ST) – An analysis, conducted by the American website “The Intercept”, of major media coverage revealed that major American newspapers’ coverage of the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip showed a consistent bias in favor of” Israel”, and ignored aggressive practices against Palestinians and the issue of human rights.

In its analysis, the site said that the print media outlets, which play an influential role in shaping American views on the conflict in the Palestinian territories, including the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Los Angeles Times focused disproportionately on “the dead Israelis, using emotional language to describe the killings of Israelis, while they largely ignored anti-Palestinian racism and the indiscriminate bombing of Gaza Strip.

The website stressed that its analysis supports the accusation leveled by pro-Palestinian activists against major publications of bias toward “Israel,” as the New York Times witnessed protests in front of its headquarters in Manhattan due to its blatant bias during its coverage of the aggression on the Gaza Strip.

The website indicated that it issued its analysis based on more than a thousand articles collected from the three newspapers about the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, and it enumerated the uses of some key terms and the context in which they were used, as the statistics revealed a major flaw in the method of covering matters related to Israelis and pro-Israel figures.
