Ambassador Sabbagh discusses with the Lebanese Foreign Minister enhancing consultation and coordination between the two countries

The head of the delegation of the Syrian Arab Republic to the work of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Ambassador Bassam Sabbagh, met with the Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Abdullah Bouhabib.

The two sides discussed  strengthening consultation and coordination between the two brotherly countries on various issues of common interest.

The meeting, which was held in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, also addressed the issue of the return of Syrian refugees and putting an end to everything that hinders their return.

Ambassador Sabbagh renewed Syria’s welcome of the return of all refugees to their homeland, and its keenness to provide everything it can to facilitate their return.

Ambassador Sabbagh stressed that some Western countries are working to obstruct efforts to return refugees, in addition to continuing to implement illegal unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria, which increase the suffering of Syrians.
