Ambassador Mia discusses with the Rector of Oman’s Sultan Qaboos University cooperation with Syrian universities

On October 16th, the Syrian Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Idris Maya, discussed with the Rector of Sultan Qaboos bin Said University, Dr. Fahd Al Said, ways to enhance cooperation in the educational field between the two countries.

The two sides discussed possible cooperation mechanisms between Sultan Qaboos University and Syrian universities in general, especially Damascus University and the possibility of signing a cooperation agreement with it. 

Dr. Fahd Al Said stressed the importance of developing bilateral university cooperation relations, in the interest of the scientific research process in the two brotherly countries. 

It is noteworthy that Sultan Qaboos bin Said University was established in 1986, and about 17,000 male and female students from various scientific branches study there, 1,700 of whom are in postgraduate studies. 

The meeting was attended by the advisor at the Syrian Embassy in the Sultanate of Oman, Fattouh Qudsiyah.
