Ambassador Haddad: Violating border security is one of the most dangerous aspects of the terrorist war on Syria

Dushanbe (ST): Syria’s Ambassador to Moscow, Dr. Riyad Haddad, stressed the need to ensure respect for the principle of state sovereignty and support national efforts to combat terrorism, noting that the phenomenon of international terrorism has become the most prominent and dangerous challenge facing the world today, which requires strengthening international cooperation according to more effective formulas.

In a speech before a high-level conference on (international and regional cooperation on border security and administrative cooperation in combating terrorism and preventing the movement of terrorists), which was held in Dushanbe, the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan, Haddad pointed out that the violation of regional border security constituted for Syria one of the most dangerous aspects of the terrorist war imposed on it. He explained that some governments allowed terrorists to cross the border into Syria, provided them with all facilities and supported them with weapons and money.

Haddad reiterated Syria’s rejection of some countries’ attempts to justify its military intervention in Syria without the consent of the Syrian government under the pretext of combating terrorism, stressing that this represents an aggressive act and a violation of the Charter of the United Nations and the principle of state sovereignty and independence, prolonging the terrorist war against Syria and impeding the government’s efforts in the field of combating terrorism.
