Ambassador Dayyoub: Syria’s Reconstruction Conference is an important opportunity to manifest the products of Iranian companies

Syria’s ambassador to Tehran, Dr. Shafik Dayyoub, stressed the importance of Iran’s participation in the third conference for the reconstruction of Syria, entitled “Investment Prospects and Visions”, to be held in Damascus next June.

Ambassador Dayyoub said during his meeting today, Tuesday, the 8th of March 2022 with the Director of the Iranian-Syrian Joint Chamber of Commerce from the Iranian side, Kiwan Kashifi, and the Secretary-General of the Chamber, Hassan Shamshadi, that the third conference for the reconstruction of Syria will constitute an important opportunity for Iranian companies to provide their services and products in many fields in order to participate in the reconstruction of what was destroyed by terrorism.

Dayyoub explained that the new investment law in Syria offers many exemptions from customs duties and others, in addition to good guarantees for investors with the aim of facilitating their work and creating an investment environment that attracts foreign capital.

Ambassador Dayyoub stressed the importance of holding exhibitions of Syrian products in Tehran and the main Iranian cities with the aim of introducing the Iranian consumer to the local Syrian product, which will contribute to expanding and strengthening economic and trade relations between the two countries.

For his part, Kashifi affirmed that the Iranian private sector has sufficient desire and capabilities to enter the Syrian markets, and said that the Iranian Joint Chamber of Commerce is making persistent efforts to facilitate the entry of investors and is working to remove all obstacles that could impede cooperation between the two sides.

In turn, Hassan Shamshadi referred to the programs of the Iranian-Syrian Joint Chamber of Commerce and said that a database on Iranian and Syrian merchants had been prepared and a list of laws related to import and export in the two countries had also been prepared to inform each party of the capabilities of the other.
