These children believed that the world around them was silent and voiceless, but today they conquered the silence by presenting a choral as beautiful as the beauty of their souls in the United Arab Emirates. They sang on Mother’s Day in the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council of Motherhood and Childhood, Honorary President of the UAE Red Crescent.
They are a group of Syrian children who were followed up by the Amal Organization in detecting hearing deficiency, identifying the required hearing aids, therapeutic intervention, and fitting the cochlea. They were trained in speech, pronunciation, and even singing. In the coming years, these children will know more about the good and deep relationship between the First Lady Asma al-Assad and Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, and that thanks to the goodness and love they offered, they have reached this wonderful achievement today.
Amal Organization, which has accumulated considerable experience, has secured and conducted hundreds of cochlear implant operations for hundreds of children with hearing deficiencies, most of whom have been successfully integrated into schools like other normal children.
Amal supported academic programs and undergraduate specializations in health sciences and developed master’s programs in speech, language and motor psychology.
“Amal” provides language and speech training to hundreds of children in most Syrian governorates and its experts assist many associations and institutions working in the field of hearing deficiency.
The National Program for Detection and Early Intervention of Neonatal Hearing Loss will soon be launched throughout Syria’s cities, which will make early screening available to all Syrian children without exception, within the vision of the First Lady Asma al-Assad and also within her concept of the role towards children and their safety as an essential part of the safety and future of society.
