Alouk water station resupplied with power to resume water pumping after 10 days of water cuts by Turkish occupation
HASAKA, (ST)-The Alouk water station in Hasaka northern countryside was resupplied with electricity on Saturday in preparation to resume the pumping of water to more than a million citizens in Hasaka and its countryside after ten days of water cuts by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.
According to SANA reporter, available information indicates that diplomatic Syrian and international efforts as well as a pressure campaign against the Turkish regime have resulted in taking steps to re-operate the station including resupplying it with electrical power in preparation to resume the pumping of water to Hasaka.
The water pumping process hasn’t started yet, the reported added.
The reporter made it clear that electricity has reached 9 water wells out of 30 in Allouk station, but it hasn’t reached the pumps, therefore water supplying hasn’t started yet.
After water pumps are re-operated, water needs about 12 hours to reach the city of Hasaka due to the length of the pipeline which is about 70 km long, the reporter pointed out.
He stressed that any final solution for the problem of supplying the city and its vicinity with potable water requires allowing the station’s workers to enter it and supervise the pumping operation and prevent any attempt to stop it by the Turkish occupation or its mercenaries, a procedure that hasn’t been done yet.
The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries have been cutting off water supplies for the city of Hasaka and its vicinity for 10 consecutive days, depriving about a million people from potable water. This is the 15th time in which the occupation and its mercenaries cut off water supplies for the city during the past eight months.
