Because of her loyalty to Syria and her respect to everyone defending it , the 80-year-old Algerian princess has turned down all enticements offered to her to leave the country during the ongoing crisis.
She considers Syria as her mother and she has called on each Syrian woman to play a role in disseminating awareness and love of homeland in society.
The granddaughter of Emir Abdul Qadir al-Jazairi, told the official news agency (SANA) on Sunday that she has refused the enticements offered by her homeland –Algeria- to leave Syria during the current difficult circumstances because she feels that she will betray Syria that embraced her and her family, if she leaves it.
Princess Bade’aa al-Hesni al-Jazairi, who joined popular resistance during the 1956 aggression on Egypt and took part in protest held in Damascus against the US occupation of Iraq in 2003, spends the time reading books at her home after the death of her husband 18 years ago..
She publishes articles in official and private newspapers in Syria and she has corrected historical mistakes in books and researches that dealt with the life of her grandfather Emir Abdul Qader al-Jazairi.
Add to that, the princess contributed to the establishment of several association in Damascus and took part in many international meetings in Syria and in the Arab world.
Emir Abdul Qader al-Jazairi was a military leader who led struggle against the French colonial invasion in the mid-19th century and he died in Damascus in 1883.
