Algerian President: The French massacres are hideous and will remain engraved in memory

On May 7th, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune said that the massacres committed by the French forces on May 8, 1945 in a number of Algerian cities are hideous and cannot be forgotten.

Tebboune said that the massacres will remain engraved with their horrific tragedies in the national memory and be used as  historical reference.

“The atrocities that Sétif, Guelma, Kharrata and other cities witnessed on May 8, 1945 will continue to be referred  to as  heinous massacres that cannot be forgotten,” the Algerian News Agency quoted Tebboune as saying in a message he addressed to the Algerian people on the occasion of the commemoration of the National Day of Memory in memory of the massacres of May 8, 1945.

Tebboune pointed out that the truest expression of loyalty to the homeland on this anniversary is by facing the economic and social conditions with the required effectiveness.
