Algerian Vice-President of the People’s National Assembly, Ben Thabet Azzi, renewed his country’s position towards Syria, which calls for rejecting foreign interference in Syrian internal affairs and reaching a political solution to the crisis in it.
Bin Thabet said during the establishment ceremony of the Algerian-Syrian Parliamentary Fraternity and Friendship Committee in Algiers, with the participation of Syria’s Ambassador to Algeria, Dr. Numeir Wahib Ghanim: “The Algerian-Syrian bilateral relations are a model for good Arab-Arab relations.”
The Algerian parliamentary official pointed out the importance of forming this parliamentary group for friendship between the two brotherly countries, which is considered a gain added to the balance of bilateral relations, which is a model for good Arab-Arab relations, affirming Algeria’s firm stance towards Syria and the necessity of stopping terrorism in all its forms, refusing to interfere in the internal Syrian affairs, and finding a political solution through comprehensive dialogue in a way that preserves Syria’s security, stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
For his part, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs praised the solid relations between Algeria and Syria, pointing out that the establishment of the Algerian-Syrian Parliamentary Friendship Group will give an important impetus to the diplomatic relations between the two countries. He stressed Algeria’s “steadfast” position in supporting just causes, including its tireless work to find a solution to the crisis in Syria.
In turn, the group’s head, MP Nuri Sufian, pointed out that this new parliamentary mechanism is the best way to bring visions closer and coordinate joint work through the exchange of experiences to achieve security and stability.
In turn, Ambassador Ghanim stressed the importance of establishing the Brotherhood and Friendship Group because of its great impact on parliamentary work in the future, recalling the rooted and renewed historical relations between the two brotherly countries and pointing to the agreement of political positions of the leadership of the two countries.
