Algerian Foreign Minister affirms his country’s full support for Syria against terrorist threats

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Bassam Sabbagh on Tuesday received a phone call from his Algerian counterpart Ahmed Attaf, during which the two sides discussed the terrorist attack carried out by “Al-Nusra Front” (Hayat Tahrir al-Sham) terrorist organization and its affiliated groups in northern Syria, and its dangerous consequences.

Sabbagh thanked Algeria for the support it provides for Syria at the UN Security Council as an Arab member, especially its support for holding an emergency session of the Council today to discuss the repercussions of the terrorist attack by terrorist organizations included in the UN terrorism lists.

He stressed that the threat of terrorism is not limited to a specific country, but it may extend to other countries, thereby spreading chaos and destruction, which poses a serious threat to regional and international security and peace.

For his part, Attaf expressed his country’s firm position and absolute solidarity with the Syrian Arab Republic, as state and people, in confronting the terrorist threats that endanger Syria’s sovereignty, unity and sanctity of its lands, and affect its security and stability.
