Algeria: The Israeli occupation government’s denial of the existence of the Palestinian people is aggressive behavior

On March 22nd, Algeria affirmed that the statements of the minister in the Israeli occupation government (Bezalel Smotrich) amount to  aggressive behavior that is added to the series of systematic violations committed by the occupation against the Palestinians.

Bezalel Smotrich denied the existence of the Palestinian people.

The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that these provocative statements constitute a flagrant violation of international legitimacy and norms that threaten peace, security and stability in the entire region.

The Ministry called on the international community to assume its responsibilities to protect the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

At the beginning of this month, the minister in the occupation government ,Smotrich, called for the eradication of the town of Hawara, south of Nablus, from existence, which was met with widespread Palestinian rejection and international condemnation.

Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, said: “Smotrich’s statement is provocative, inflammatory, and unacceptable and it contravenes United Nations resolutions.”
