Algeria: The International Community Must Pressure “Israel” to stop its massacres against the Palestinians
Algeria renewed its call in the international community to put pressure and compel the Israeli occupation entity to respect the principles of international humanitarian law and stop its crimes against the Palestinian people.
Rashid Bladhan, head of the Permanent Mission of Algeria to the UN Office in Geneva and International Organizations, was quoted by the Algerian Press Agency as saying during the 89th session of the UNHCR Standing Committee in Geneva: “the Middle East and North Africa are today among the most unstable regions … The massacres committed by the Israeli occupation authorities against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank are a clear example of this”.
Baladhan condemned Israel’s systematic genocide in Palestine, calling on the international community to compel the occupying Power to respect the principles of international humanitarian law.
Beladhan reiterated his country’s support for UNHCR’s work in supporting refugees and forcibly displaced persons, pointing out that Algeria is working, during its non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council to establish the legal framework and defend the rights of refugees.
