NEW YORK , SEP.21, *ST)– Algeria has strongly condemned the explosions caused by Zionist cyberattacks targeting telecommunication equipment in Lebanon on September 17 and 18, causing dozens of deaths and injuries, emphasizing that these aggressions are “war crimes” and a flagrant violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and international law.
According to the Algerian News Agency, Algeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Ammar Bendjama, condemned the attacks in a speech he delivered during an emergency session of the Security Council held last night to discuss the situation in the Middle East, and discuss the Zionist attacks on Lebanon, and the tragic events and cyber attacks to which it was subjected, which led to dozens of martyrs and injuries.
Bendjama said: “ We condemn in the strongest terms these Israeli attacks, which represent a flagrant violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty, the United Nations Charter, international law, and Resolutions 1701 and 2749, reiterating Algeria’s full solidarity with Lebanon in these difficult times.”
He stressed that the deliberate and indiscriminate nature of these Israeli attacks caused panic among civilians while targeting densely populated areas, warning of this “unprecedented act” that turns civilian devices into missiles that threaten the security and safety of everyone and opens a dangerous box.
The diplomat said: “ At a time when the international community is calling for reducing the escalation, Israel is pushing the region towards war and expanding its aggressive actions.”
He affirmed that ending the Israeli occupation is the only way that will pave the way for lasting peace and stability in the region.
