Ala: The Israeli occupation entity continues its brutal war on Gaza in partnership with the United States and its Western allie

Hussam El-Din Ala, Syria’s Permanent Rpresentative to the League of Arab States and head of the Syrian diplomatic mission in Egypt, confirmed that the ongoing brutal Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip would not have continued without the partnership of the United States and its Western allies with the Israeli entity and their unlimited support to achieve the Zionist goals.
Ambassador Aala said in a speech before the 113th regular session of the Economic and Social Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, which has been held today in Cairo: “The meetings of the current session of the Council coincide with the continuation of the genocidal war that the Israeli occupation entity has been waging for 132 days against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and throughout the occupied Palestinian territory side by side with deliberate daily massacres that occur therein and exceed in brutality the worst forms of war crimes, amid an international inability to deter the Zionist entity crimes.”
Ambassador Aala added: “After the war of extermination in the Gaza Strip caused the martyrdom of more than 28 thousand Palestinians, the vast majority of whom were children and women, and the displacement of hundreds of thousands, the developments on the ground and the statements of the leaders of the occupying entity about launching a ground military attack on the city of Rafah, which houses more than a million and a half million Palestinians, the occupation army has destroyed all residence facilities of the Palestinian people including their homes, their cities, and their livelihoods throughout the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army is pushing the Palestinian people under the weight of bombing for forced displacement outside Gaza Strip, which confirms that the goals of forced displacement of Palestinians are moving to the stage of implementation and action, while the Zionist entity continues in parallel to escalate its daily crimes against the Palestinians in the West Bank in order to deport them. outside the Strip by expanding the scope of Zionist attacks on the Syrian and Lebanese territories, which threatens to drag the region into an open regional war.”
Ala pointed out that the decision of the United States and its Western allies to stop funding UNRWA, which constitutes the lifeline of relief for the Palestinians in its five areas of operations inside and outside the occupied Palestinian territory, and to work to end UNRWA role associated with ensuring the right of the Palestinian people to return, comes within the framework of the organic partnership between the US and the occupying entity. .
Ambassador Ala pointed out that in light of this dangerous and crisis situation and in parallel with the efforts made to stop the war of genocide and confront plans to forcibly displace the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, ensuring relief and humanitarian access to our Palestinian brothers and providing them with the basic necessities of life to support their resistance and steadfastness on their land is of great importance. Ambassador Aala further added: “In this context, Syria welcomes the Council’s adoption of a resolution regarding the preparation of an emergency response plan to deal with the negative economic and social repercussions of the Israeli aggression against the State of Palestine so as to support the steadfastness and resistance of the Palestinian people.”
Ambassador Ala continued: “The period preceding the preparation for holding the meetings of the 113th session of the Economic and Social Council witnessed remarkable and intense activity by all ministerial councils and specialized Arab organizations, which resulted in important recommendations and decisions to deal with the risks and challenges facing our Arab countries and to find solutions and strategies that would advance economic and social development of our countries in various fields, especially in development fields,” stressing that in light of the political, economic and health crises that are ravaging the world, progress towards achieving sustainable development goals constitutes the cornerstone on which the successes of governments in moving on the path of growth and development are built.
Ala noted that with the approaching of the Fifth Arab Development Summit in sisterly Mauritania, the Syrian Arab Republic looks forward to strengthening the role of joint Arab action mechanisms in supporting efforts to overcome the obstacles that hinder development work in our countries. In this field, Syria looks forward to an active Arab role that contributes to lifting the illegal unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States and its Western allies on the Syrian people, which harm the Syrian efforts for economic recovery and reconstruction.
Ambassador Ala concluded his speech by saying: “I would like to highlight the importance of the procedures that are being worked on regarding controlling the mechanism for establishing specialized organizations and determining the frameworks and references for their work. We hope that this commendable effort will lead to tangible results that will reflect positively on the performance of the institutions emanating from the League, and contribute to supporting the efforts of Arab countries to achieve sustainable development, and I express our wishes for the current session to succeed in producing results that enhance the effectiveness of joint Arab action mechanisms.”
It is noteworthy that the League of Arab States witnessed this week the meetings of the Social Committee and the Economic Committee, and the meeting of the Economic and Social Council at the level of senior officials. The meetings have been concluded today with the meeting of the Economic and Social Council at the ministerial level.
