Al-Zoubi: Political solution won’t come at expense of counter-terrorism

DAMASCUS,(ST)_Information Minister has said political solution to the crisis in Syria will not come at the expense of counter-terrorism.

Omran al-Zoubi told today a delegation representing a commission for defending Syria in Sweden that armed terrorist organizations will never be a part in the solution, asserting that what is going on in the country [Syria] targets its resistance policy, its strong army and its key role in the region in order to serve Israel and its agents.

“Despite all challenges, Syrians insist on fighting terrorism and standing by their army and offering sacrifices for restoration of peace and stability to the homeland,” the minister added.

He pointed out expatriates’ role in supporting their homeland through explaining the reality of what is going on in Syria.

On his part, the commission’s Head George Maqdisi said: “Right from the beginning of the crisis, the commission in cooperation with Syrian community in Sweden and those who are in solidarity with Syrian people collected medical and relief aid and send them to Syria.”  

He clarified that the commission’s visit to Syria aims to express solidarity with Syrian people, asserting that the commission will brief the people of Sweden about what is going on in Syria.

Youf Sandmark, an activist in the commission, said: “The delegation came here to offer support to Syria in confronting the terrorist organizations that came from all over the world.”  

He added that the terror Daesh organization [known as IS or ISIS or ISIL] poses a threat to every countries in the world.  

The visiting delegation includes businessmen, employees, activists, writers and engineers from the Syrian community in Swede.
