Al-Zoubi Opens “Zanoubia TV”, Stresses Syrian Media Proved Great Ability to Resist Challenges

 

DAMASCUS, (ST)-Information Minister Omran al-Zou’bi has stressed that over the past four years, the Syrian media, both private and public, has proved great ability to resist challenges and it deserves respect as many reporters, who stood side by side with the Syrian Arab Army to report events from the battlefiled, were martyred.

 “What distinguish the Syrian media from other Arab and international counterparts, which have more advanced technological ability and performance, are the national awareness, clear vision and credibility,” al-Zou’bi said on Saturday as he was announcing the launching of the new Syrian “Zanoubia TV” Channel.

 The minister stressed that the new channel will get the full support of the ministry and of other concerned media parties in order to convey Syria’s real image to the entire world and express the Syrians’ strong will to resist the terrorist war and live dignified. 

On his part, Chailrman of the “Zanoubia TV” Board of Directors Tamer Balbisi asserted that the channel will be a new voice of the Syrian media and a link between citizens and government officials and between expariates and their homeland.  

He clarified that the new channel will focus on political, economic, social and cultural news and will work on preparing more specialized staff to present important programs about the reality of events in Syria, the situation of Syrian society and Syria’s cutural message as a cradle of civilizations and religions.

The channel’s launching ceremony was attended by Minister of Social Affairs Kinda al-Shammat, Chairman of Journalists’ Union Elias Murad, Head of the Media National Counci Mohammad Razzouq and directors of media institutions in addition to a number of journalists and artists.
