Al-Zou’bi: Qatar, Turkey Leading Conspiracy to Undermine Resistance

DAMASCUS, (ST)-Palestine has been the target of a big conspiracy led by Qatar and Turkey to undermine resistance, said Caretaker Information Minister Omran al-Zou’bi in a statement to al-Mayadeen TV last night, pointing out that some Arab regimes have kept conspiring on the Palestinian cause under the cover of the so-called Arab League or through direct collusion with the Zionist entity.

“Syria will continue to back the Palestinian people and resistance in the confrontation of the Israeli occupation regardless its stance towards some Palestinian factions,” al-Zou’bi said.

He added that Syria, who paid expensively in the ongoing global war against the country, has adopted a clear stance against terrorism. He urged the influential UN member states to implement the recently-issued Security Council resolution on fighting the danger posed by the so-called Islamic States in Iraq and Levant (ISIL) and Jabhet al-Nousra terrorist organizations in both Iraq and Syria, because “it is a political resolution with logistic dimensions aiming to prosecute terrorism financiers and pursuit the terrorists flocking to Syria and Iraq from all over the world.

Syria Won’t Stop Cooperation on Fighting Terrorism

The minister asserted that Syria will never stop to cooperate on fighting terrorism with the purpose of achieving the items of the international resolution, which has proved the rightness of Syria’s stances.

He urged not to ignore the role played by Qatar, Turkey and other countries in the region in financing terrorism.

On reports claiming that American warplanes have attacked ISIL positions in Syria, al-Zou’bi said “American warplanes never attacked terrorist positions in Syria and they won’t do except with permission from the Syrian government.” He pointed out that the Syrian Arab army has enough capabilities to fight terrorism on the Syrian land.
