Al-Zou’bi: Official delegation insisted on discussing the first item: counter-terrorism

GENEVA,(ST)_ Information Minister Omran al-Zou’bi stressed that the Syrian delegation would not discuss any item of the Geneva statement under any pressure before discussing the cessation of violence and the fight against terrorism, indicating that the Syrian position is very clear on this issue, on discussing the statement item by item.

Al-Zou’bi told reporters today that the official delegation would not escape discussing any item even in respect of the transitional government, but insists on discussing the first item on counter-terrorism, pointing out that the other party and its supporters are scared of discussing the issue of terrorism, because this will necessarily lead to discussing the reality of terrorist organizations and armed groups and methods of arming and training them.

Al-Zou’bi added that when talking about stopping terrorism means an integrated vision on the issue of terrorism in the sense to define what terrorism is , who the terrorists are ,from where they come, who fund them, how they arrive in the country, how can they be stopped , and the expulsion of foreign element, which is the basic structure of the total “militants”, outside Syria .

Coalition delegation vision is far from Earth and Geography

Al-Zou’bi indicated that the coalition delegation speaks a vision far from land, geography , people’s concerns ,and daily needs and they have a lack of the national sense , the sense of responsibility and political understanding.

In response to a question about the positions of the permanent members at the UN Security Council on a new draft resolution concerning the humanitarian aid in Syria, Zoubi mocked saying : “We do see the humanitarian aid sent by / angel / French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius to Syria , and what the Frencharmy does in Mali of acts of killing and slaughtering , “pointing out that dealing with human affairs in Syria is the responsibility of the government and iscarried out in collaboration with international agencies concerned.

Resorting to the Security Council to put pressure on Syria will fail

Al-Zou’bi stressed that resorting to the UN Security Council to put pressure on Syria will fail for pragmatic reasons , because there are documents proving that Syria did not fail as a government in providing humanitarian assistance to all Syrians, without exception, and what happened recently in Homs is an evidence.

He pointed out that the UN, the”militants”, the US and French Foreign Minister should be asked about areas besieged by armed terrorist groups affiliated to the coalition, and many other areas including Adra city , and Nobble and al-Zahra.
