Al-Zou’bi Calls for Establishing World Media System to Fight All forms of Terrorism
DAMASCUS, (ST)-Information Minister Omran al-Zou’bi has stressed the need to establish a media system in which journalists from all over the world take part to fight all forms of terrorism.
Al-Zou’bi was speaking on Sunday to a number of Iraqi journalists who participated in the International Media Conference against Takfir Terrorism which concluded its activities in Damascus on Saturday.
He affirmed the importance of Iraq’s role in fighting terrorism, pointing out that Syria and Iraq share the same destiny; that is victory on terrorism and its supporting countries.
On their part, the Iraqi journalists asserted Syria’s pivotal role in maintaining the indentity of the Arab nation and in confronting all schemes aiming to divide Syria and Iraq.
Head of the Iraqi TV and Radio Union Mohammad al-Hamad stressed the need to reactivate mechanisms of cooperation and coordination between the Iraqi and the Syrian media as “being in the same trench against the same war.”
