Al-Zara Massacre is Part of Terrorist Attacks Targeting Syrian Cities Upon Orders from Terrorism Supporters

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The horrible massacre committed on Thursday by the terrorists of “Ahrar al-Sham”, “Jabhat al-Nusra” and their allied terrorist groups against locals in al-Zara village of Hama countryside comes within the framework of the organized terrorist attacks that have been targeting several Syrian cities in implementation of direct orders by the extremist regimes in Riyadh, Ankara and Doha, aiming at undermining Geneva intra-Syrian talks and hampering efforts to put an end to bloodshed in Syria, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

Addressing the UN Chief and President of the Security Council in two identical letters on Saturday, ministry said “the government of the Syrian Arab Republic urges the United Nations and the Security Council to immediately condemn the massacre and adopt immediate deterrent and punitive measures against the countries which support and fund terrorism.”

The Ministry named some terrorist groups like “Al-Rahman Legion”, “Ahl al-Sunna Battalions” and “Ajnad Homs” that, along with Jabhat al-Nusra and Ahrar al-Sham, claimed responsibility for the massacre on their social media pages and said that the crime was perpetrated as planned and coordinated in advance.

The new massacre came after the Security Council representatives of the US, France, Britain and Ukraine have refused to blacklist “Jaish al-Islam” and “Ahrar al-Sham”, the ministry said, noting that this behavior proves that these countries are supporting the criminal acts committed by such terrorist groups and that they are not serious about fighting terrorism and stopping bloodshed in Syria.
