Al-Shibani meets Pedersen in New York

NEW YORK, Apr.26, (ST)-Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates As’ad Al-Shibani meets UN Special Envoy to Syria Geir Pedersen in New York.

Earlier, Pedersen declared that he had held a fruitful discussion with Foreign Minister As’ad Al-Shaibani on several key issues.

He added: “I emphasized to the Foreign Minister that transparency is essential for the next steps in the political transition.”

Pedersen welcomed the agreement between President Ahmad Al-Sharaa and Mazloum Abdi and stressed the importance of reaching compromises.

He stressed the importance of deepening dialogue to integrate the northeast through a Syrian-Syrian process.

“The Syrian people must see that the Interim Parliament represents Syria’s unity and diversity,” Pedersen said.
