Al-Shibani: Israel should respect Syria’s sovereignty

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the caretaker government Asaad Al-Shibani asserted that the new administration seeks national dialogue.

Al-Shibani noted that we sent messages that Syria will not be a source of threat to any country, including Israel, and just as they want to preserve their security, they must preserve the security of others.

He confirmed Syria’s commitment to the 1974 agreement, which stipulates the placement of disengagement forces between Syrian territory and the Israeli border, and in this way both parties can preserve their security under international supervision.

Al-Shibani underlined the necessity of calling on the international community, the United Nations, and friendly countries to exert pressure on Israel to withdraw from Syrian territory.

He pointed out that Israeli should respect Syria’s sovereignty.
