Al-Shammat: American Aggression on Syria to Add More Suffering to the Syrians, Increase the Displaced Number

DAMASCUS- Minister of Social Affairs Kinda al-Shammat has stressed that any American Aggression against Syria will add more suffering to the Syrian people and increase the number of the displaced citizens.

“The aggression will worsen the humanitarian crisis in the country and negatively affect the government’s response to the needs of the crisis-hit displaced families,” the minister said in a statement to “al-Mayadeen” TV.

She stressed that Syria rejects any attempt to politicize the file of the displaced Syrians as it had previously done with the Iraqi refugees file when the country hosted a large number of Iraqis who fled the Anglo-American war on their country.

The Minister pointed out that the displacement file is being politically exploited by some countries. This was made clear in reports by international organizations and governments and through the way the displaced Syrians are being treated at borders or on the lands of Syria’s neighboring countries.

On the Syrian government’s humanitarian response plan, al-Shammat said Syria is going to implement the second half of the plan in cooperation with international organizations acting in Syria in order to meet the needs of the displaced who were badly affected by the acts of the armed terrorist groups.

The minister clarified that according to latest reports discussed by the Higher Relief Committee last Week, the number of the displaced people has reached 5.250, 000, some of them were forced to be displaced for more than once.
