Al-Shaibani: Talks with US Secretary of State Fulfill the Aspirations of the Syrian People

Asaad Al-Shaibani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, confirmed that his discussions with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio fulfilled the aspirations of the Syrian people. He emphasized that the American side acknowledged Syria as an active state, highlighting its security as essential for global protection and stability.

“Since December 8, 2024, we have begun the process of normalizing relations with all Arab and foreign countries, including the United States,” the Foreign Minister stated in an interview with the Syrian News Channel. He noted that Syria currently holds promising prospects and that the government is capable of establishing balanced relations with all nations.
Minister Al-Shaibani expressed confidence that Syria’s future will be bright and competitive in the region following the removal of US sanctions.
He also mentioned that there are Syrians abroad who have achieved success and demonstrated creativity in various fields, and the government will support these individuals in their innovative and productive endeavors.
