Al-Shaibani meets with Zhang Jun, China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations

Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani met with Ambassador Zhang Jun, China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, at the UN headquarters in New York.

Al-Shaibani emphasized Syria’s strong commitment to enhancing relations with China, stating that Syria will be a partner and supporter of China on various international issues.
He highlighted the intention to collaborate with China in establishing a long-term strategic partnership in the near future.
Ambassador Zhang expressed China’s support for the Syrian people’s right to determine their political future. He also reaffirmed that China will continue to back the efforts of the Syrian government in maintaining the country’s stability.
Both sides expressed their desire to strengthen joint coordination to address global and regional challenges while ensuring respect for the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their internal affairs.
