Al-Sayeda Church Is a Syrian Architecture Icon

DAMASCUS,(St)- Al-Sayeda Roukad, affiliated to the Patriarchate of Antioch and all East for Orthodox Rome, church is located in Deir Attiya.

The Church is a symbol of Syrian architecture in Qalamoun region. It was renovated while maintaining its old form.

The Russian Church donated Al- Sayeda Roukad Church a bell in 1911. In a then grand celebration, One of  Deir Attiya Muslim residents rang the bell, in expression of friendship and brotherhood between Muslims and Christians in the town.

The church includes a museum consisting of a large number of   huge- sized of expensive books and archeological manuscripts.
