THE HAGUE, (ST)_Chairwoman of the Syrian mission to the Organization for the Prohibition of chemical Weapons (OPCW) Rania Al-Refaei has affirmed that Syria faces a campaign that has been launched by some known countries, mainly the US and its western allies, in which they use a lot of tools, including terrorists to implement their hostile agendas.
“Despite the difficult conditions Syrian is passing through because of unilateral coercive measures and the outbreak of Covid-19, Syria has received a number of the Organization teams and cooperated with them and offered facilitations to make their missions a success within the framework of Syria’s obligations in accordance with the convention,” Al-Rafaei said in a statement at the 96th session of the Executive council of OPCW.
She called for adopting serious steps to make the Middle East free of Weapons of Mass Destruction to guarantee the achievement of regional peace that necessitates Israel’s joining all international agreements that are related to preventing the spread of WMDs.
She underscored the importance of preserving the technical humanitarian task of the OPCW far away from politicization.
