Al-Munajjid: Resumption of cooperation between Syria and Arab Labor Organization is a positive start to face challenges

CAIRO, May, 23, (ST)- Today, the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Louay Al-Munajjid, called for the necessity of cooperation to enhance the economic and social stability and facilitate the safe return of Syrian citizens to their homeland.

Al-Munajjid said during his speech at the 49th session of the Arab Labor Conference held in Cairo: “The conference discusses ways of promoting social work at the national and Arab levels as a better strategic option to enhance the economics of society and face crises and contain their repercussions.”

He referred to what Syria was exposed to as a result of the war, unilateral economic coercive measures, and the arbitrary practices of the Israeli occupation entity in the occupied Golan.

The minister declared that the resumption of cooperation programs between the Arab Labor Organization and the Syrian Arab Republic constitutes a positive start towards activating joint cooperation in the light of the economic and political challenges facing Syrian workers in a number of host countries.

He underlined the importance of the right framework between the Arab Labor Organization and Syria to intensify efforts, especially to support the return of Syrians to their homeland.

For his part, the head of the Syrian Workers Union, Jamal Al-Qadri, called for speaking loudly in every platform to reject the blockade policies pursued by the United States and its allies against all countries that do not adhere to their policies.

Al-Qadri stressed the importance of rejecting these policies, which harm the Syrian people and prevent them from the most basic requirements of life, and from economic recovery.

Yesterday, the work of the 49th session of the Arab Labor Conference kicked off in Cairo amid a wide welcome for the participation of the Syrian delegation, and the resumption of Syria’s participation in the meetings of the Arab League.
