Al-Muallem affirms Syria’s firm stance in backing Palestinians despite conspiracy

DAMASCUS,(ST)_Foreign and Expatriates Minister has reiterated Syria’s firm stance in supporting the Palestinian people despite the global conspiracy against Syria.

Walid al-Mualem, who also occupies position of Deputy Prime Minister, said today that Syria has offered support to the brotherly Palestinian people and has not changed its brotherly stance despite the nearly four years of global conspiracy against it.

He asserted that terrorism, which is supported by the west and some regional and Arab countries, has not distinguished between the Syrian people and their Palestinian brothers who have lived in Syria for a long time.

Al-Muallem’s remarks came during his meeting with the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) Pierre Krähenbühl.

Krähenbühl highly appreciated the Syrian government’s support to the UNRWA and the Palestinian refugees in Syria, stressing that the agency seeks to enhance ties with the Syrian government.
