Al-Moallem: What We Did in Geneva2 Conference Doesn’t Equal What every Syrian Soldier is doing While Fighting Terrorism
DAMASCUS, (ST)-Deputy Premier, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem on Wednesday presented a political review of the latest developments relating to the crisis in Syria during a People’s Assembly session.
Concerning the International Conference on Syria (Geneva2), al-Moallem said “what we did as a Syrian delegation to Geneva was part of our national duty, but it doesn’t equal what every soldier in the Syrian Arab Army is doing in the battle against terrorism.”
“We should encourage a more important step; the national reconciliation, which is being attained in several areas across the country to reduce the shedding of the Syrian blood,” he added.
Commenting on the new Israeli aggression on al-Hamidiyeh in the Golan, al-Moallem said “the attack came as Israel felt that the Syrian army forces had carried out a preemptive operation starting from northern Golan towards Daraa and the Jordanian borders aiming to undermine any idea or plan to establish a security belt in Golan to maintain Israel’s security.”
