Al-Moallem to visit Moscow on 26-27 Nov.

MOSCOW,(ST)_Foreign and Expatriates Minister will pay a visit to Moscow on 26-27 November at the invitation of his Russian counterpart, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The talks between Walid al-Moallem and Sergei Lavrov will focus on situation in Syria, bilateral ties and implementation of deals that have been reached during the last session of the Syrian-Russian Committee for Technical, Scientific, Economic and Trade Cooperation.

Goals of the two-day visit

Spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Lukashevich clarified that the talks between the two ministers will build a base to move the dialogue forwards keeping into consideration the recent proposals of the UN Envoy for Syria Staffan De Mistura.

“Fighting terrorists and extremists in Syria must synchronize with international community’s efforts to resume political process in order to solve the crisis in Syria,” Lukashevich said.

He indicated the importance of unifying efforts of Syrian community to confront the terrorist organizations in Syria and the Middle East for the interest of Syria’s future.
