Al-Moallem, Rodriguez Exchange Congratulations on 50th Anniversary of Establishing Syrian-Cuban Diplomatic Ties

 

DAMASCUS, (ST)-  Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Walid al-Moallem on Tuesday received a letter from his Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodriguez congratulating him on the 50th anniversary of establishing the Syrian-Cuban diplomatic ties.

Rodriguez stressed the excellent level of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

He reiterated the solidarity of the Cuban government and people with Syria in the confrontation of all attempts to undermine Syria’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

 

In a similar letter sent by al-Moallem to Rodriguez, al-Moallem hailed the historical friendship between Syria and Cuba which witnessed continuous development as they are based on firm principles including preserving national sovereignty, rejecting foreign interference in the two countries’ internal affairs, supporting peoples’ just causes in the face of hegemony policies.

He renewed Syria’s will to boost cooperation with Cuba as to enhance the steadfastness of the two countries and to serve the mutual interests of the two friendly peoples.

Al-Moallem reiterated that Cuba’s victory, represented in putting an end to the unjust siege, will enable it to consolidate its achievements and carry on the process of development in the country.

He highly appreciated Cub’s support for Syria in the face of the conspiracy hatched against the country, stressing that this support strengthens the determination of the Syrian people to achieve victory, eliminate terrorism and maintain Syria’s unity and independent decision under the leadership of President Bashar Al-Assad.
