MUSCAT, (ST)- Walid al-Moallem, Syria’s Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, and As’ad Bin Tarq Al Saeed, the Oman Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation and the Special Representative of Sultan Qaboos of Oman, discussed on Tuesday the importance of continuous contacts between the two countries as to boost bilateral relations.
During the meeting, al-Moallem conveyed a message from President Bashar Al-Assad to Sultan Qabbos expressing the Syrian leadership and people’s appreciation over the wise stances of the leadership and people of Oman in support for Syria’s fight against terrorism and in contribution to preserving the region’s stability.
Oman congratulates Syria on victories in fight against terrorism
Al Saeed congratulated Syria on the victories achieved in the fight against terrorism and asked al-Moallem to convey the greetings and appreciation of Sultan Qaboos to President Al-Assad.
“Syria is right and right always triumph”, stressed Al Saeed, reiterating Oman’s keenness on Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and stability.
Al-Moallm also held a round of talks with his Omani counterpart Yousef Bin Alawai to discuss bilateral ties. Viewpoints were identical on the need to enhance relations in all fields.
Th two top diplomats exchanged viewpoints on regional and international issues of common interests.
Meeting with Syrian Community in Oman
Al-Moallem, who started his visit to Oman yesterday, met members of the Syrian community in Oman. He explained to them the situation in Syria, stressing the determination of the Syrian people and army led by President Bashar Al-Assad to uproot terrorism from the entire Syrian territories and to preserve Syria’s unity and independent decision.
He urged all the Syrians abroad to unify their efforts as to contribute to reconstructing Syria and rebuilding what terrorism has destroyed.
On their part, members of the Syrian community voiced their support for their country in the confrontation of the terrorist aggression and expressed their readiness to do their best as to preserve Syria’s stability.
