Al-Moallem Hails China’s Support for Syria’s War on Terrorism to Restore Stability

DAMASCUS, (ST)-Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Walid al-Moallem on Monday received the newly-accredited Chinese Ambassador to Syria Qi Qianjin.

The two sides discussed bilateral relations and cooperation in the field of combating terrorism which has become a serious threat to all countries of the world.

Al-Moallem affirmed that Syria is going ahead with its war on terrorism which is targeting its independence, people and territorial integrity.

He hailed the role played by China at the Security Council in support for Syria and highly appreciated Beijing’s international moves aiming to solve the crisis in Syria and maintain the Syrian state’s sovereignty and independence.

 Qianjin, on his part, affirmed China’s government and people’s keenness on supporting Syria’s war on terrorism, vowing continuous effort to provide necessary assistance to help the Syrian people withstand the war, get rid of terrorism and restore security and stability to the country.
