Al-Moallem conveys President Al-Assad’s condolences to Sultan of Oman on the passing away of late Sultan Qaboos (2)

MUSCAT, (ST)-Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Walid al-Moallem on Tuesday offered the condolences of President Bashar Al-Assad and the Syrian people to Sultan Haitham bin Tarek bin Taymour of Oman on the passing away of late Sultan Qaboos bin Said.

He also extended condolences to the royal family and the Omani people.

Al-Moallem expressed confidence in the ability of Sultan Haitham bin Tarek bin Taymour to continue the policy of the late sultan in working to achieve more progress and prosperity in the brotherly country of Oman and to enhance bilateral relations between Syria and Oman.

 On his part, the new Sultan said that he highly appreciates President Al-Assad and thanks him for his heartfelt condolences, pointing out that he will continue the policy of late Sultan Qaboos.

He also stressed that he will work to boost the Syrian-Omani relations, asking al-Moallem to convey his greetings to President Al-Assad.
