DAMASCUS,(ST)_Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem discussed means of cementing Syrian-Belarusian ties in all domains with Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Valentin Rybakov on Tuesday, the official news agency (SANA) reported.
The agency said that al-Moallem expressed his appreciation for Belarus’s attitude towards Syrian leadership and people in the light of systematic terrorism that hits Syria.
The two sides underlined importance of continuity of coordination between the two countries in international meetings.
Earlier, talks were held between Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister Ayman Sousan and Ryabkov on the recent developments in Syria and regional and international arenas.
Sousan said that Syria is facing a regional and international aggression being carried out by terrorist organizations in order to force Syria to abandon its national stances.
He reiterated Syrian people’s determination to preserve the homeland’s sovereignty and unity.
On his part, Ryabkov said that his country condemns terrorism hitting Syria.
He called for unifying international efforts to combat terrorism within the framework of the U.N. Security Council’s resolutions and far away from selectivity and double standard policy.
‘uncivilized policy’
Sousan and Ryabkov condemned sanctions imposed on Syria and Belarus, stressing that the policy of imposing sanctions is uncivilized policy in international relations.
They described the forthcoming meeting of the joint Syrian-Belarusian Committee to be held by the beginning of 2015 in Minsk as an ‘important station’ to develop cooperation between the two countries.
