Al-Moallem Affirms Syria’s Determination to Deepen Friendship, Cooperation with DPRK

PYONGYANG, (ST)- Syria’s Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Walid al-Moallem on Tuesday held talks with President of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK Choe Ryong-hae concerning the historic friendship between the two countries and on ways to boost cooperation in all domains in the service of mutual interests and to face the economic terrorism and US hegemony attempts against the two countries.

Al-Moallem affirmed Syria’s determination to deepen its relations with Democratic Korea, reiterating Syria’s full solidarity with DPRK, under the leadership of President Kim Jong un, in the confrontation of the economic siege imposed by the US on this country.

 He hailed the Korean people’s achievements and self-reliance to build their country, pointing out that the Syrian people have also managed to keep steadfast in the face of conspiracies and all forms of terrorism, including the economic terrorism and the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed by the United States and its allies on the Syrians.

On his part, Choe Ryong-hae stressed that his country and Syria are in the same front against terrorism and US-led imperialism.

He hailed the victories achieved by Syria, as a government, people and army, under the leadership of President Bashar Al-Assad, in the fight to defend the country’s sovereignty and security and in the face of foreign attempts to interfere in the country’s internal affairs.

He reiterate his country’s firm stance in the face of political pressure and the unjust US economic sanctions.
