Al-Miqdad: The West practices the worst types of media terrorism to restrict Russia’s role in the world
Al-Miqdad indicated that the Western escalation against Russia, and before it Syria, is not surprising, as this is of its nature, which is based on the idea of hegemony and siege of peoples and the imposition of coercive economic measures on them in violation of all international laws.
On the future of relations between Syria and some Arab countries, Miqdad pointed out that there are many contacts with these countries with the aim of overcoming the effects of the past phase that the relations went through as a result of the terrorist war on Syria and the support of some of those countries for that war.
The Minister referred to the formation of a new awareness among some Arab countries that were implicated in harming Syria, indicating that Syria, which has always sacrificed for the sake of its Arab brothers, seeks to rebuild Arab positions anew and eliminate the remnants of the past. Al-Miqdad said: “We look at the present and the future with an eye full of optimism, and we are happy with the visits made by some Arab delegations to Damascus and the visits we have made to some Arab countries.”
Al-Miqdad added: “I do not want to mention the name of a specific Arab country, but we, as Arab countries, are all concerned with reconciling differences, because this attack will affect us all.
Regarding Syria’s return to the Arab League and the possibility of its participation in the upcoming summit in Algeria, Mikdad said: “It is not important for the material return to the League. We did not feel, even for a moment, that we had neglected the joint Arab action in Syria, whose main concern was for the Arab countries to be strong in facing the challenges imposed on it.”
Miqdad stressed that prolonging the terrorist war on Syria would allow more time to harm it and pass some conspiracies against it, especially by the Turkish regime, which occupies parts of its northwest, and by the United States, which occupies other parts of its northeastern and supports separatist movements in it.
On the dialogue between Saudi Arabia and Iran, Al-Miqdad said: “We call for deepening this dialogue and support it, and we want it to produce results because the situation cannot be stabilized in the Gulf region without an Arab-Iranian understanding. Therefore, we encourage all parties to continue holding such meetings to reach solutions that serve cooperation and building in this region within the framework of relations based on respect for sovereignty and principles.
Miqdad explained that the intensity of the war that Syria was subjected to began to decline due to the steadfastness of the Syrian Arab Army and the people’s support for its leadership, pointing out that Syria seeks to end the Turkish and American occupation of some areas by all means and stop their theft of Syrian resources.
