Al-Miqdad: Syria will continue to support the Palestinian people and their deeply-established rights

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, affirmed that the fierce attack against Syria and the Palestinian people aims to liquidate Arab rights. weaken the steadfastness of the Syrian and Palestinian peoples and undermine the Palestinian people’s right to return and build their independent state.
During his meeting today with member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization Azzam Al-Ahmad and the accompanying delegation, Minister Al-Miqdad said that the Palestinian issue will remain the central issue of Syria and that Syria will continue to support the Palestinian people, their firm and inalienable right to self-determination, the establishment of their independent state on Palestine’s national soil with Al-Quds as its capital. He also stressed Syria’s support for granting Palestine full membership in the United Nations, guaranteeing the right of refugees to return to their homeland, in accordance with General Assembly Resolution 194 of 1948.
For his part, Al-Ahmad explained the difficult situation the Palestinian cause is going through, and the struggle of the Palestinian people against the Israeli occupation and its massacres and the extremist racist policies which aim at eliminating the Palestinian cause.
He pointed out that Syria has never abandoned its firm supportive stance for the cause of the Palestinian people untill they restore their legitimate.
Al-Ahmad also affirmed that Syria has been the steadfast fortress that defends Palestine, pointing that Syria has paid heavy price for standing by the Palestinian cause.
Al-Ahmad added the a Palestinian diplomatic movement is currently taking place in order to place the world before its responsibilities towards the Palestinian cause, calling on the world to bear in mind the grievances of the Palestinian people who have suffered and are still suffering from the occupation that proceeds in the Judaization of the Palestinian land through its settlement building measures and Zionist project that began since the Balfour Declaration.
