Al-Miqdad, Slutsky review the latest regional and international developments

MOSCOW, Feb.20,(ST)-The Minister of Foreign affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Miqdad reviewed on Sunday with Chairman of International Affairs Committee at the Russian Duma Leonid Slutsky the recent development in Syria and in the regional and international arenas.

Al-Miqdad asserted- during the talks held in Moscow- the importance of strategic relations with the Russian Federation to achieve the joint goals related to enhancing security and stability in the region and the world.

He also spoke about the role of the parliamentary diplomacy in enhancing friendly and cooperation relations between Syria and Russia.

The minister denounced the western hysteria towards the Russian Federation, saying that the west seeks to keep the world’s affairs under its control and this will fuel and escalate tension in the international arena.

For his part, Slutsky reiterated his country’s support for Syria in various fields, especially in the field of strengthening stability, combating terrorism and preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic.

He underscored the need to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
