Al-Miqdad receives Russian parliamentary delegation that followed up on presidential election

DAMASCUS, (ST)_ Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Miqdad has  described the relations between Syria and Russia as deep-rooted al political and parliamentary levels.
 
Al-Miqdad’s remarks came during a meeting held today with members of the Russian Federation delegation which followed up on the presidential election process.
 
He pointed out to the wide participation of Syrian citizens, whether at Syrian embassies abroad or at Homeland.
 
Al-Miqdad added that the wide participation shows the Syrians’ commitment to the present and future of their homeland and their willingness to contribute to the future of their country, its stability and prosperity, according to the Syrian News Agency ( SANA).
 
For his part, Dmitry Sablin , the member of the Russian State Duma, affirmed that the two most important elements in any elections are freedom and secrecy. “ we have seen commitment to these two elements.”
 
He stressed the  Russian delegation that followed up on the Syrian elections will convey its impressions about the fair and legitimate election process that will have positive echoes in Russia.
