Al-Miqdad receives parliamentary Mauritanian delegation

DAMASCUS, May.15, (ST)-The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Miqdad received this morning the MP Mustafa Blah Sohaib, the head of brotherly Syrian-Mauritanian Parliamentary Committee, and the accompanying delegation.
 
According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), Al-Miqdad expressed his appreciation and pride in the Syrian-Mauritanian relations and the honorable stances of the Mauritanian people and their leadership towards Syria and towards the unjust terrorist war being waged on the country with the aim of weakening it, bringing down the axis of resistance, liquidating the Palestinian cause and achieving Western-Israeli interests.
 
The minister referred to the deep-rooted and historical relations between Syria and Mauritania, which are being developed in political, cultural and social fields, indicating the importance of the joint Arab action and permanent coordination in all political and parliamentary forums to serve Arab issues.
 
He also talked about the Syrian leadership’s interest in parliamentary diplomacy and its effective role in serving and meeting the interests of states .
 
Ak-Miqdad informed the visiting delegation that all Western and regional plots to topple the Syrian state had failed thanks to the steadfastness of its people and the valor of its army, as well as the support of friendly and allied countries.
 
He underscored the need to work on reforming the Arab situation by focusing on ending differences between Arab countries and concentrating on the main Arab cause, the Palestinian cause, and how to face the attempts that seek to liquidate it.
 
For his part, the MP Sohaib expressed his gratitude and thanks for the hospitality and good reception he found in Syria, indicating that the committee’s visit to Damascus comes within the framework of supporting Mauritanian-Syrian relations and supporting parliamentary work. 
 
He  affirmed the continuity of his country’s support to Syria and its people in facing the terrorist war against it and in maintaining Its sovereignty and territorial integrity and the liberation of the remaining occupied lands and their return to the control of the Syrian state, pointing out that Mauritania is always keen to stand by Syria and Arabism.
