DAMASCUS, Nov 18, (ST)- The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Miqdad discussed with senior Undersecretary of the Iraqi Foreign Affairs Ministry, Nizar Al-Khair Allah and an accompanying delegation, the ways of developing relations between the two countries in all fields.
Al-Miqdad talked about the deep- rooted and brotherly relations between Syria and Iraq, asserting that Syria is keen on boosting bilateral relations with brotherly Iraq in all fields.
He briefed the Iraqi delegation on the common challenges and threats facing the two countries, mainly terrorism, referring to the need to continue cooperation to eliminate terrorism and uncover the countries that are supporting it.
The minister also spoke about the catastrophic humanitarian impacts of unilateral coercive measures imposed by Western countries on Syria and other countries, describing them as illegitimate measures which pose threat to the lives of citizens and to the stability and security of countries.
For his part, Khair Allah pointed out to the “new atmospheres” in the region, hoping that that the coming period will witness greater openness.
