Al-Miqdad receives a copy of the credentials of Shahid Akhtar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Pakistan to Syria

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, received a copy of the credentials of Shahid Akhtar, Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Syrian Arab Republic.

Miqdad and Akhtar discussed  bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, and the importance of developing them, in proportion to the history of these relations, and in a manner that achieves the interests of the peoples of the two countries.

Minister Al-Miqdad reviewed the negative repercussions of continued Western and Israeli support for terrorist groups, as well as the negative effects of the inhuman and immoral unilateral coercive measures imposed by Western countries on the Syrian people.

In turn, Ambassador Akhtar reiterated his country’s positions in support of Syria, its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. He also expressed his admiration for the steadfastness and strong will of the Syrian people, wishing them more security and stability.

The ambassador pointed out the importance of activating cooperation between the two countries in the cultural, educational, economic and commercial fields, in a way that helps to overcome the difficulties and challenges facing Syria and Pakistan.
