Al-Miqdad receives a copy of credentials of the Indian Ambassador to Syria

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, received on Sunday Ambassador Mahinder Singh Kanyal and received from him a copy of his credentials as  mbassador Extraordinaire  and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Syrian Arab Republic.

During the meeting, they discussed ways of developing and strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields to serve the interests of the two friendly peoples.

Minister Al-Miqdad expressed his satisfaction with the high level of coordination between the two friendly countries in various forums and fields and at all levels.

 

 Minister Al-Miqdad reiterated Syria’s high appreciation for the Indian supportive stance in facing the terrorist war imposed on it and rejecting all attempts of external interference in its internal affairs. He stressed the aspiration of Syria and many countries of the world for more Indian active role at the international level to defend the principles of justice and international law and prevent attempts to dominate which some countries are trying to practice in many regions around the world. Al-Miqdad praised in this regard the active and positive role of Indian policy during its membership in the UN Security Council.

For his part, Ambassador Mahinder Singh Kanyal expressed his great happiness for his presence in Damascus and his gratitude for the welcome he received since his arrival. He stressed his readiness to promote bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields, especially political, economic, cultural and scientific fields.

Ambassador Kanyal highlighted the achievements realized between the two countries in all domains, underlining the importance of promoting relations to serve interests of both countries. In this regard, the ambassador presented some important aspects that he seeks to work on to strengthen bilateral relations between Syria and India. He affirmed his country’s readiness to support Syria through India’s active participation in combating terrorism and in providing humanitarian aid that Syrians need in various fields.
