DAMASCUS, (ST)_The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Miqdad reviewed in a telephone conversation on Tuesday with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov bilateral relations and the recent developments in the region and the world.
Al-Miqdad asserted that Syria highly appreciates Russia’s support for it in all international organizations and its stance towards the unilateral coercive measures being imposed by Western countries and other countries on Syria.
He pointed out that these measures contradict international law and cause damage to people.
Al-Miqdad pointed out to the recent escalation in western remarks that aim to target Syria exploiting the so-called the 10th anniversary of the war on Syria.

For his part, Lavrov reiterated that the Russian President Vladimir Putin wishes a speedy recovery to President Bashal Al-Assad and Mrs. Asma Al-Assad from Covid-19.
He briefed Al-Miqdad on the outcomes of his recent tour in the region and the talks he held on the regional situation.
The two sides also discussed preparations for the forthcoming round of the talks of the committee that discusses Syrian constitution.
