Within the framework of his visit to the Indian capital, New Delhi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad held a dialogue session with researchers at the “Manohar Parikar” Institute for Defense Studies and Analysis (IDSA), with a wide presence of military experts, politicians, academics, diplomatic figures and his accompanying delegation.
Minister Al-Miqdad gave a presentation on the latest developments in Syria, the region and the world, and the Syrian-Indian relations. He pointed to Syria’s achievements in the field of combating terrorism and the dangers posed by the presence of the occupation in some areas and the continued support of some countries for terrorism in order to use it to serve its agendas.
Al- Miqdad referred to the negative effects of the unilateral economic measures imposed on Syria, stressing that they are inhuman and immoral measures, praising the humanitarian aid provided by India to Syria.
AL-Miqdad also drew attention to the historical dimension of the Syrian-Indian relations and the two countries’ solidarity in the most difficult times, underlining the importance of this initial model of bilateral relations between countries.
The minister highlighted Syria’s vision and position on a number of developments on the regional and international arenas, stressing the importance of coordination between like-minded countries regarding dealing with challenges and developments on the international arena.
Minister Al- Miqdad answered questions from the audience, which focused on Syria’s foreign relations, Syria’s participation in the Astana meetings, and Syria’s important experience in combating terrorism and confronting extremism in its various forms.
