Al-Miqdad discusses with Moreno promotion and development of the Syrian-Venezuelan relations in all fields

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, received the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for Asia and the Middle East, Tatiana Moreno, and the accompanying delegation, who are visiting Syria on the occasion of the resumption of the Venezuelan airline between Caracas and Damascus.

During the meeting, they discussed the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and people, whose solid foundations were built by President Bashar Al-Assad and the late leader Hugo Chavez, and later President Nicolas Maduro. The meeting also underlined the importance of continuing to strengthen and develop relations in all fields.

Minister Al-Miqdad stressed the need to follow up coordination between the two sides to face the common challenges stemming from attempts by Western countries to interfere in the internal affairs of independent countries and impose their dictates on them, reiterating Syria’s support for Venezuela.

Minister Al-Miqdad said: The practices that the United States of America is carrying out in stealing Syrian oil are the same to what it is doing in Venezuela in an attempt to control Venezuelan oil resources.

Moreno confirmed that restarting the Venezuelan national airline’s flight to Damascus will constitute a new introduction to follow up on the development of bilateral relations and social ties between the two countries’ people.

She pointed out that Syria and Venezuela stand by justice and respect for the sovereignty of states, to reach a new world in which peace prevails, and that the victory of Syria and Venezuela is a victory for all the people of the world.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Ayman Sousan, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ambassador Khalil Bitar, Director of the US Department, and Jamal Naguib, Director of the Executive Support Department. On the Venezuelan side, it was attended by Jose Gregorio Biomorji Mousatis, Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Damascus.
