Al-Miqdad and Al- Mazrouei discuss ways to exchange experiences to support agricultural development in Syria and the region

On March 19th, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdadmet with the Chairman of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Development and Investment, Muhammad Obaid Al-Mazrouei, and the accompanying delegation

The two sides discussed mechanisms of cooperation, exchange of experiences, and the establishment of joint projects to support agricultural development in Syria and the region. 

Minister Al-Miqdad presented the negative repercussions left by the terrorist war on Syria, and its impact on all economic sectors in the country, especially the agricultural sector. 

He referred to the importance of Arab national institutions in achieving economic development, and the need to pay attention to food security in all Arab countries. 

The two sides also discussed the dangers of disastrous coercive measures on development and investment in Syria and the Arab world. 

In turn, Al- Mazrouei stressed the importance of this visit, given the capabilities, resources and strategic location Syria enjoys, in addition to the importance of achieving agricultural integration among Arab countries and implementing the Arab Food Security Initiative. 

Al- Mazrouei praised Syria’s role in cooperation and providing the necessary facilities for the work of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Development and Investment and the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD). 

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Dr. Riyad Abbas, Director of the Arab Affairs Department, Nasr Al-Din Al-Obaid, Director General of the ACSAD Center in Syria, and the rest of the visiting delegation members.
